This course is for plumbers, building maintenance engineers and water inspectors who have a working knowledge of hot and cold water systems. The course meets the requirements of the revised Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) and Guidance, Legionnaire’s Disease: The Control of Legionella Bacteria in Water Systems. In particular it focuses on the disinfection of cold water supply systems.

The aim of this course is to ensure operatives have the knowledge and skills to undertake the disinfection process.

This course is approved by CORGI, the Energy Savings Trust and the Heating & Hot Water Information Council. A comprehensive set of documentation is provided prior to the course start date. On successful completion delegates will achieve a BPEC Part L Energy Efficiency qualification.

This course is for trades people i.e. plumbers and kitchen fitters who make alterations to electrical circuits in the DOMESTIC electrical contracting industry. It provides a qualification to support registration onto a Competent Body Certification Scheme to satisfy the requirements of Part P of the Building Regulations. Before attempting the course, we recommend that candidates have some basic electrical experience and understanding.

Entry requirements for Level 2 are four GCSEs at grade C or above including maths, English and preferably science, appropriate work experience or other qualifications. Students wishing to join the Level 3 should have the Level 2 6129 qualification.

This course could lead to other programmes of study including City and Guilds in domestic plumbing studies, an NVQ qualification or Apprenticeship programme.

This course introduces installers to the different types of rainwater harvesting and point of use systems found in the UK marketplace.

The syllabus covers information required by qualified building services engineers or plumbers to install rainwater harvesting systems and includes legal and safety aspects. The course will train candidates to select the most appropriate Rainwater Harvesting System for the building based on consultation with the client about their needs and demands and install any of the common types of Rainwater Harvesting Systems in the UK in a safe and professional manner.

This course covers the predominant fluid filled, indirect solar water heating systems and collector types including; fully filled sealed systems, drain back systems, flat plate collectors, evacuated tube collectors and direct flow evacuated tube collectors. On successful completion delegates will be awarded a BPEC Solar Domestic Hot Water qualification which assists in proving competence to install, commission and maintain solar domestic hot water systems.

To attend this course delegates must be experienced in the installation of domestic cold and hot water systems and hold a current G3 certificate in Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems. Delegates should also hold a recognised competence in a conventional fuel; an NVQ level 2 or equivalent plumbing qualification. Experience in basic electrical practice is desirable alongside an understanding of the Water Regulations 1999.

This course provides training and assessment in the installation and safety requirements of modern Unvented Hot Water Storage (UHWS) systems. Delegates will learn how to recognise different types of hot water systems, the functional requirements of UHWS systems, design a system to comply with Part G of the Building Regulations and carry out commissioning, fault finding and maintenance of UHWS systems. On successful completion candidates will be awarded a BPEC qualification which assists in proving competence to install, commission and maintain Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems.

To attend this course delegates must be experienced plumbers or heating engineers and hold an NVQ level 2 or equivalent plumbing qualification.

The 1/2 day refresher course provides holders of expired Unvented Hot Water Storage (UHWS) systems certificates with an opportunity to refresh their knowledge of modern UHWS system technologies and safety requirements.

This course is for plumbers and associated trades people who are involved with the installation, design or specification of water systems or with buildings containing water systems. The course provides the training required to prove competence with Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999.

On successful completion delegates will be awarded a BPEC Water Regulations qualification. This is accepted as the knowledge part of entry criteria for “Approved Contractor Status” schemes operated by Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Health Care Trusts, Builders and Developers scheme.
