The Army FE Bursary pays you £1000 a year while you study at
College if you are aged between 16 and 32. When you finish your
course, there's a
guaranteed job in the Army waiting for you, as
well as £1000 after you complete basic training. It doesn't
matter what subject you are studying at A Level, Level 2 or Level
3 and some courses are eligible for additional payments of up to

14 - 19 Uniformed and Public Services
These courses provide the basis of study and motivation for a career with the armed forces, police, fire, ambulance and prison services.
Students will explore employment in the uniformed services and will start to develop their skills in relevant areas.
All courses use a blend of practical work such as fitness, map reading, adventurous activities and theory work including looking at the roles and work of the uniformed services.
Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT are integrated into each course at an appropriate level.

Diploma in Public Services - Level 3
The Diploma in Public Services will give learners the opportunity to understand the broad context of public services to gain understanding and skills which are transferrable across a wide range of roles.
The Diploma has a focus on provision and employment in areas such as:
Leisure and education
Regeneration and development
The Armed Services
Law and order
Emergency, health and social services
Central and local government
The Diploma uses the public services as an applied learning environment to develop an understanding of how the public services contribute to the lives of individuals and communities. Learners will become aware of the importance of public services in developing, maintaining and protecting our society. The Level 3 Diploma covers the following subject areas:

activity based framework, particularly
when preparing to make a career in one
of the uniformed public services. These
courses provide the basis for further study
and motivation towards career
development within the armed forces,

All levels contain compulsory units

Personal safety
Teamwork and problem solving

Adventurous activities
Health and Safety awareness
Successful students will complete a
number of units of assessment by
practical and written tasks as well as a
core unit external test.
Students hoping to join the Level 1 course
will not be expected to hold any previous
qualifications. Experience and any
previous qualifications will be taken into
consideration during applications for the
Level 2 and students joining the Level 3
will be expected to have GCSE grade C
and above, including maths and English,
or completion of the Level 2 programme.
The course structure allows continuous
progression with successful completion
of each level and an interview before
acceptance on to the next level.
