A total of 26 Level 2 Uniformed Services students have successfully completed an Exercise Long March.
The two day exercise was designed to test the students’ team work, problem solving, fitness and map reading skills. A range of activities were organised including a 15 mile cross country hike in Waveney Forest giving the students the chance to draw on their navigation skills as they made their way to a number of different points.
After camping at the Suffolk Education Adventure Training Centre, a brand new purpose built facility for outdoor education, the students’ problem solving and practical skills were tested with raft building challenges and team tasks. Many of the students’ strength of mind was also tested when they were forced out of their comfort zone with a high ropes course.
Tutors Andy Gass, Steve Laws and Sara Guymer said: “It was an excellent two days with the students really giving their best.”
