University Campus Suffolk (UCS) opened in 2007 and is among one of the newest higher education institutions in the UK. UCS is a modern approach to higher education and has a network of centres across the county in Bury St Edmunds, Great Yarmouth, Ipswich, Lowestoft and Otley. This means that all higher education students studying at the site of Lowestoft College are studying with UCS Lowestoft. All students studying at UCS Lowestoft are UCS students and are working towards joint awards of the Universities of East Anglia and Essex.
UCS Lowestoft Open Event UCS Lowestoft, located at the site of Lowestoft College, is holding an open event on Monday 2 March from 5.15pm to 8.15pm.
Starting September 2015 UCS - Lowestoft will be offering a new BA (Hons) degree in Social Science (subject to validation).
Studying our interdisciplinary degree in the social sciences will give you specific knowledge and understanding of the relationships between the local world and the wider world, between the past and the present and between the individual and the group. You will study, sociology, politics, psychology and social and cultural history in preparation for a range of post-graduate careers and study programmes.
A BA (Hons) Social Science could open up career opportunities in education, the health professions, law, social services, national and international voluntary and campaigning organisations, the media, public relations, public service organisations and government (national and local), the criminal justice system and social welfare organisations.
